Dayton Ward è un autore di fiction pubblicato negli Stati Uniti, nato a Tampa, in Florida. Ha iniziato la sua carriera professionale come sviluppatore di software, diventando schiavo del Corporate America dopo aver trascorso undici anni nel Corpo dei Marines degli Stati Uniti. Ward decise di arruolarsi nell'esercito dopo essersi stancato delle persone che gli dicevano cosa fare tutto il tempo, solo per scoprire che non era diverso nell'esercito.
Ward è l'autore di diversi romanzi di Star Trek, tra cui "In the Name of Honor" e "Open Secrets", nonché dei romanzi di fantascienza "The Last World War" e "The Genesis Protocol". I suoi racconti brevi sono apparsi in varie antologie come "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds", "Houston, We've Got Bubbas", "Kansas City Voices Magazine" e "Star Trek: New Frontier".
