Gary Whitta è uno sceneggiatore e autore pluripremiato, noto soprattutto per il suo lavoro nel cinema, nella televisione e nei videogiochi. Ha ottenuto riconoscimento per aver scritto il thriller post-apocalittico "The Book of Eli", con protagonista Denzel Washington, e per aver co-scritto il film di fantascienza "After Earth".
