Kristiana Gregory è una nota autrice di letteratura per ragazzi e fiction storica, riconosciuta a livello internazionale per la sua serie "Cabin Creek Mysteries" e i suoi contributi alla serie "Dear America". Cresciuta a Manhattan Beach, in California, a due isolati dall'oceano, Gregory ha trascorso gran parte della sua infanzia a creare storie da raccontare ai suoi fratelli minori. La sua passione per la narrazione è iniziata a una giovane età e ha scritto la sua prima poesia all'età di undici anni, solo per ricevere il suo primo rifiuto poco dopo. Nonostante questo primo ostacolo, Gregory ha inseguito il suo sogno di diventare una scrittrice, svolgendo varie mansioni come giornalista, operatrice telefonica, consulente di campo, bagnino, columnist e revisore di libri per il LA Times prima di raggiungere il suo obiettivo.
Il debutto letterario di Gregory, "Jenny of the Tetons", è stato pubblicato nel 1989 e da allora ha scritto oltre trenta libri per bambini per Scholastic, Harcourt e Holiday House. Si è anche avventurata nel self-publishing, rilasciando la sua memoir "Longhand: The Rise and Fall and Rise of My Career as a Children’s Book Author". La scrittura di Gregory fonde i fatti con la narrazione, permettendole di creare finali felici anche quando la storia non li fornisce. Ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti per il suo lavoro, tra cui la Medaglia d'Oro per il Mistero per Giovani Adulti nel 2012 da Literary Classics per il suo libro "Stalked". Gregory attualmente vive a Boise, Idaho, con il marito, due figli adulti e i loro golden retriever.
