Noam Chomsky

Noam Chomsky è una figura di spicco nei campi della linguistica, della filosofia e dell'attivismo politico. Nato il 7 dicembre 1928 a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chomsky ha studiato all'Università della Pennsylvania per la sua formazione di laurea e post-laurea. Attualmente è un Institute Professor e Professor Emeritus di Linguistica al Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), dove ha trascorso più di mezzo secolo.

Chomsky è ampiamente considerato il padre della linguistica moderna e uno dei maggiori esponenti della filosofia analitica. È noto per la sua teoria della grammatica generativa, che ha rivoluzionato il campo della linguistica nel XX secolo. Questa teoria postula che la capacità di utilizzare il linguaggio sia innata negli esseri umani e non sia acquisita solo attraverso l'esperienza.
