Penny Jordan, il cui vero nome è Penelope Jones Halsall, è stata un'autrice inglese affermata, nota per i suoi romanzi di fiction romantica. Poco dopo, Mills and Boon ha accettato il suo primo romanzo per loro, Falcon's Prey, sotto lo pseudonimo di Penny Jordan. Jordan viveva in una casa neo-georgiana a Nantwich, Cheshire, con i suoi animali domestici e lavorava da casa in cucina, circondata dagli animali. Ha accolto interruzioni da amici e familiari.
