Teresa Amabile

Teresa Amabile è una Baker Foundation Professor e Direttrice della Ricerca presso la Harvard Business School, specializzata in comportamento organizzativo e dinamiche lavorative. La sua ricerca si concentra sulla creatività, la produttività e la vita lavorativa interiore - l'interazione tra emozioni, percezioni e motivazione in contesti professionali. È nota soprattutto per il suo libro "The Progress Principle: Using Small Wins to Ignite Joy, Engagement, and Creativity at Work", scritto in collaborazione con Steven Kramer, che analizza quasi 12.000 annotazioni di diari quotidiani per dimostrare come piccole vittorie sul lavoro alimentino l'impegno dei dipendenti. Tra le sue altre opere significative figurano "Creativity in Context", "Growing Up Creative" e strumenti accademici come "The Work Preference Inventory" e "KEYS to Creativity and Innovation".

Formatasi inizialmente come chimica, Amabile ha conseguito il dottorato in psicologia alla Stanford University prima di passare alla ricerca organizzativa. Il suo lavoro collega il mondo accademico e quello pratico, con intuizioni applicate da aziende come Procter & Gamble, Novartis e IDEO. Ha pubblicato oltre 100 articoli su importanti riviste di psicologia e management, tra cui il "Journal of Personality and Social Psychology" e "Administrative Science Quarterly". Ricercata come relatrice, ha presentato i suoi studi in forum prestigiosi come il World Economic Forum a Davos e TEDxAtlanta.

Come docente, Amabile ha insegnato corsi su creatività, leadership ed etica alla Harvard Business School e alla Brandeis University, dove in precedenza ha ricoperto incarichi accademici.
